Researcher: Rural Development

Sonwabile holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of the Western Cape. He is passionate about creating climate adaptation opportunities in rural and remote communities in order to assist in building the resilience of rural communities against the impacts of climate change. Currently he is enrolled for a Master of Social Science in Development Studies at the University of Pretoria. His current research is titled “Assessing the effectiveness of climate finance in promoting a just transition: A case study of Siyathemba Local Municipality in the Northern Cape, South Africa”.
