Africa Green Leaders Fellowship
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
As part of its 14th anniversary milestone, the African Centre for a Green Economy is launching the AfriCGE Fellowship Programme, aimed at supporting emerging leaders working to advance Africa’s green economy and just transitions.
The fellowship will bring together researchers, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and policy professionals who are committed to developing practical solutions for sustainable and inclusive economic transformation in Africa.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications are invited from individuals working on issues such as:
- Climate finance and sustainable investment
- Just energy transitions
- Green entrepreneurship and innovation
- Sustainable industrial development
- Community-led transition pathways
- Policy and governance for the green economy
Selected fellows will:
• contribute to AfriCGE research and knowledge products
• participate in expert dialogues and policy discussions
• collaborate with other fellows across Africa
• produce a policy brief, research paper, or innovation concept
• present their work through AfriCGE platforms and events
Fellows will also engage with AfriCGE initiatives such as Shaping Inclusive Transitions (SIT) and the Africa Green Jobs Forum.
The fellowship will run for 6–12 months.
The programme is open to:
• early-career researchers
• development practitioners
• climate finance professionals
• entrepreneurs working on sustainability solutions
• policy analysts and emerging leaders
Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive development in Africa.
Fellows will benefit from:
• affiliation with the African Centre for a Green Economy
• mentorship from experienced practitioners and experts
• opportunities to publish and present their work
• participation in AfriCGE dialogues and conferences
• access to a network of green economy practitioners
Application Deadline: 30 April
Programme Start Date: 1st June

• a short statement of interest
• a CV
• a brief concept note describing the work they would pursue during the fellowship
