Food Systems
Promoting a circular economy for food through working across the value chain from farm to plate
We engage on food systems as a central component of climate resilience, livelihoods, and inclusive growth.
Our work focuses on:
Sustainable and regenerative agriculture
Local value chains and agri-enterprise development
Climate-resilient food production systems
Linking food systems to land use, nutrition, and rural economies
Food systems are treated as transition systems, not isolated sectors.
Our approach
The current food production system is unsustainable, with a very negative impact on the environment and human health. Overuse of fertilisers and pesticides, resulting in food that is harmful to human health and degrading the environment.
Localising food systems by supporting urban farmers
Create awareness about food waste in urban areas
Support consumers to make healthier food choices.
